The author of Hebrews is unknown; but whoever he was, he was a genius.

Little did I know, that when I joined a group at my local church to study the book of Hebrews, that not only would it give me ‘Eyes to see and ears to hear’…but it would change my Christian life forever…and I would encourage everyone to read and study this brilliant book.

The main theme of the book is ‘look forward …don’t look back’… The writer was encouraging the Hebrew believers to put their faith in the blood covenant of Jesus Christ sacrificed for them and not the old covenants. This New Covenant had superseded all the old covenants MT 26:28 “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. They believed by faith that their would be a Messiah…there would be a resurrection and their would be a new kingdom on earth ruled by God…Their promise of land would eventually be fulfilled in the New Jerusalem; not in the physical Israel we see today…

Hebrews opens up a Pandora’s box for those who think that today’s Jews will get special compensation regarding their salvation…Jesus is, and will forever be, the only way for Jew and for Gentile… JN 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

One point I must emphasize from Hebrews is the reference to Jesus as being the High Priest
Heb 5:8 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.
5:9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,
5:10 called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,”

We could read these passages and never come to the true understanding of the inference of the New Covenant; and here is the revelation; all priest and high priests under the Old Covenants had to be from the HOUSE OF LEVI… So how could Jesus become High Priest when He was of the HOUSE OF JUDAH? Obviously the old has all passed away and the new is introduced with the once for all sacrifice of our beloved Savior Jesus, the one and only Christ.

Heb 3:1 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,
3:2 who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house.

I have not even scratched the surface of the knowledge in this great book; so please go and study this book and be as blessed by it as I was …

JN 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
