It is finished, but not yet Done

These were the famous last words of Jesus Christ upon the cursed tree of Calvary… “It is finished”… JN 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

It is finished G5056 to end, complete, discharge (a debt)…The Greek word summed up exactly what Jesus had suffered and died for on the cross…He had paid the debt for our sins …the ultimate blood sacrifice was finished…the old covenant was finished…the new covenant was now in place in His blood… the ‘veil’ of His body was torn apart and broken for us…and this was signified by the tearing of the Temple veil in two as well…believers now had direct access into the very presence of God. 2COR 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
The Lord’s work on that dreadful tree was finished… but His work was not yet done

PS 33:4 For the word of the LORD is right, And all His work is done in truth.

ECCL 8:17 then I saw all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun. For though a man labors to discover it, yet he will not find it; moreover, though a wise man attempts to know it, he will not be able to find it.

RV 21:6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. Only when we believing Christians hear the words of Jesus Himself saying “It is done” will we know that not only was His work finished for us upon the cross of Calvary, but that He ascended into Heaven to fulfill His promise to us JN 14:2 “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. JN 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

Jesus died upon the cross to fulfill His covenant to all of those who have believed in Him …both those before and after His crucifixion!!!

HEB 11:16 But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them. RV 21:2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 21:7 “He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.

21:8 “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

We as Christian believers will know when “It is done”…when we enter into His rest in the New Jerusalem…AMEN.

JN 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

There is no better time than right now to spread the Gospel; why not do it?
