Three marks of a true Disciple

Over the years I have discussed many truths which are associated with the numerical number three…Three crosses…Three nails… Three in one Godhead…Three days …Three nights… and many, many more…

Recently I was reminded of three marks, or attributes which a true disciple should have…And they were spoken by Jesus and penned later by Luke … Here they are…

1. 14:26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also,
he cannot be My disciple.

2. 14:27 “And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.

3. 14:33 “So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.

The word cannot (G 3756 the absolute negative)

It is no wonder that Jesus gave us this firm warning Matt7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
7:14 “Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Today I let you read these verses and let the Holy Spirit of God minister to you…and then ask yourself
“Am I a true Disciple of Jesus Christ”?
